Where can students get an application?

Applicants can download the application form by clicking on the link below:

Additionally, applicants can acquire an application by contacting the Skandalaris Family Foundation by mail, facsimile, telephone or e-mail. Application requests must include:

  • Student’s full name
  • Home address
  • Current school’s name
  • Year in school

When is the application deadline?

Applications must be received by the Foundation on or before the following dates:

  • Previous college scholarship recipients – April 15, 2008
  • Current college students who are first time applicants – May 1, 2008
  • Current high school students entering college in 2008 – May 1, 2008

 

Who is eligible to apply for the college scholarships?

High School seniors or undergrad college students who are citizens of the United States may apply for a one year scholarship. Scholarships are not automatically renewable; however, the Foundation does grant scholarships to a limited number of students who reapply each year.

 

Who is not eligible to apply for the college scholarships?

We do not currently grant scholarships for:

  • Candidates enrolled in Post-Graduate Programs
  • Candidates attending trade schools
  • Candidates who are not United States Citizens
  • United States students attending foreign schools

 

What are the criteria for high school seniors to apply?

To be considered for a Skandalaris Family Scholarship, a high school senior must:

  • Anticipate graduation from high school during the 2007-2008 school year
  • Be accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States for the 2008-2009 school year
  • Carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 through the first semester of 2007-2008 school year
  • Minimum SAT score of 1800 and/or minimum ACT score of 27
  • Be involved in school, athletic and community activities.

 

What are the criteria for current college students to apply?

To be considered for a Skandalaris Family Scholarship, a college student must:

  • Carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40 through the first semester of the 2007-2008 school year
  • Attend an accredited United States college or university in the 2008-2009 school year
  • Actively be involved in university, athletic or community services.
