The Future Leaders Merit Scholarship

The Skandalaris Family Foundation has formed a partnership with Detroit Country Day School (DCDS) to identify and support outstanding students who have excelled inside the classroom and in extracurricular activities. Students who do not currently attend DCDS can apply for the scholarship as they enter grade 9 for students who meet the renewal criteria. In very select circumstances, students entering grade 6-8 may be considered. The scholarship is renewable annually and the intent of the scholarship is to continue payments through the student’s senior year.

Applicants must complete the admission process at DCDS prior to applying for a Future Leaders Merit Scholarship. DCDS will send its recommendation to the Foundation, and this recommendation will be considered along with the Foundation’s application. A copy of our application can be obtained from this site. The Foundation will provide financial support for tuition as required by DCDS. The amount of the scholarship will be determined each year by the scholarship comittee.

Selection will be made by officers of the Foundation, family members, and selected advisors to the Foundation. The majority of our financial commitment originates from the Skandalaris family. However, other supporters may be solicited to help maintain this program.
